2018 Spring Break
Memphis is known for blues music, BBQ, and Southern hospitality. Most people don’t think about the tragic history of Memphis and the focal point it had during the Civil Rights Movement. Martin Luther King Jr. was shot while in Memphis at the Lorraine Motel, but it continues to be one of the most racial divided cities in America.
Join us for a week of learning about racial reconciliation. You'll hear stories, serve alongside organizations fighting this problem, and learning how racial injustice is still an issue today.
Some things we'll be doing in Memphis: visit the National Civil Rights Museum, go to the NBA Memphis Grizzly game, check out Beale Street, and get a home cooked Southern BBQ meal.
